Default Icons

Default Icons picks up where Koloria left off. Koloria was pixel-perfect at a single size, 32px. Modern interfaces use icons at several small sizes, and most sets get there by scaling one shape, which softens edges and throws strokes off the pixel grid.

Koloria was one of my first released design projects. I published it for free on Graphic Rating, the design blog I started in 2008.

Every icon is pixel-perfect at 32×32, the size it’s meant to be seen at. Highlights, shadows and outlines sit on whole pixels, so edges stay crisp instead of blurring into half-tones. The set covers what desktop and web apps needed at the time: file types, folders, mail, charts, media controls and app window layouts.

Neo Charts

Neo Charts started in 2017 as a small jQuery plugin for bar and column charts, and in 2020 I updated it with the version I was using in Pagelocity. In 2026 I rebuilt it without jQuery and grew it from two chart types to twelve.

Pagelocity started as a way to learn PHP and JavaScript beyond design tools, by building something real. It’s since gone through several rewrites as web performance best practices changed.
